Is the theme still the same as it was? I'm at work and can't hear it. I can just see it.

Honestly, I'm not that impressed. I think the name titles look so amateurish. I think it'd look much more appealing if those weren't included.

I like it in general. But I don't like they do pairings. They should leave it open. I expect the next credits to be Villy 😞

Same theme, I hate that theme, sounds like a 3 year old banging on the piano. lol
I thought the names looked fine, I didn't even notice them until you said something, I had to watch it again. lol I was focused on the clothes.
Sure glad they got hillary out of that chevron striped dress that made her ass look like she had a pickle barrel under the dress. lol

What looked amateurish to me were those pics of a diamond, a rose etc.

They did that with the last theme too. They usually show the characters who interact with eachother the most together in the theme

I noticed only individuals so I wondered what you were talking about when you said "pairings". I had to watch it again.

I guess you are referring to characters appearing separately -- but just before/after the character they're paired with?

I didn't even notice that -- I had to look to see what you meant.

If that's what they're doing, then they paired Ashley with Abby ... so ...

Well, as you said, we'll see in the coming days when other actors are shown.

For those who asked, it's the same musical theme that Y&R has used for ages and ages: "Nadia's theme".

I was thinking the same thing. I don't like pairings either. Maybe they should do all the female characters one day and the men on the next. Don't take away my hope that I character I like is stuck forever with a character I hate.

They show them individually, but when Cane follows right behind Lilly, it's like saying this couple is sealed forever.....at least does it does for me. The only reason why Ashley is shown before Abby is because they're not paired with anyone at the moment. But if they were then those male characters would have been shown to follow them.

Not really.

If characters break up then they can easily move around the cards to fit the current couples so it reflects what is being shown on the show. They've been doing that for awhile with the old opening actually.

It reminds me of an opening GH had a few years ago. The end of the GH one with Anthony Geary never fails to crack me up because the joke used to be he glided off like that because he had to get back to Amsterdam. Just take a second to picture Eric Braeden doing that. :blulaugh:

Meh. It would have been better if they blended the shots like in the 90s, like the person behind becoming the person in focus with their name billing. They just seem so static with an emphasis on easy replacement, having the backgrounds specific to each actor.

It's an upgrade from what became of the 2003 intro though. Once they replaced the black/white intro with posed shots rather than scenic shots it lost its spark.

I hope B&B uses its upcoming anniversary as an excuse to ditch that stupid fashion show intro and game show theme they have.

The new opening sequence is rather dull and unimaginative. Everyone looks great but the all black backdrop with the weird white paint brush effect and the random roses, diamonds, and candles in the background is very much the soap opera version of the "Real Housewives of Orange County" title sequence circa 2006.

What really cheapens it is that 80s-era logo and static text over it. I always found it strange as the show changed its logo multiple times that backstage they still had that plastered everywhere.

If they were going to bring the signature Y&R logo back it should have been animated and brushed in. Something should have been done to update "The Young and the Restless"

Was day 2 less passport photo day like day 1 was? Eileen was the only one giving it life.

Watching it again it strikes me how much visual real estate is wasted. The backdrops and full body RHO rip off poses could have been scrapped in exchange for iconic moments from each character. Like present day posed Jack in the foreground with him punching Victor/throwing the chair/talking to ghost John etc as a washed out visual effect(s) in the background.
